Office of Information Practices

The State Office of Information Practices (OIP) is pleased to announce that a new 30‑minute PowerPoint presentation is available on OIP’s website oip.hawaii.gov under the training tab.  This new presentation provides a short description of OIP’s services and a quick overview of the “UIPA,” Hawaii’s open records law, the Uniform Information Practices Act (Modified), chapter 92F, Hawaii Revised Statutes.  An existing comprehensive training on the UIPA is also on OIP’s website training page.

Please be on the lookout for a future What’s New regarding updated Sunshine Law (part I of chapter 92, HRS) training materials on OIP’s website.  OIP is currently revising all of its Sunshine Law training materials to reflect the changes to the Sunshine Law made by Act 220,  SLH 2021, which becomes effective on January 1, 2022.
