The State Office of Information Practices (OIP) is excited to welcome to its team two new members: Staff Attorney Tiara Maumau and OIP Legal Assistant Zoe Abrams!
Tiara joins OIP with a decade of criminal litigation experience and will help to relieve the increasing numbers of new cases and Attorney of the Day inquiries. Zoe may be a familiar name for long-time readers, as she was OIP’s Administrative Assistant before moving to another state. Now that she is back in Honolulu, Zoe will be OIP’s Legal Assistant helping the attorneys with cases and legislative matters, along with the Record Request Logs.
With these two new team members, OIP now has six Staff Attorneys, 3.5 administrative positions, and a Director to administer the open records and open meetings laws affecting all “agencies” in the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of the State and county governments (which includes all departments, county Councils, and independent entities such as the UH, OHA, and HART), all Sunshine Law boards, and the general public.
Welcome, Tiara and Zoe!
