OIP POSTS LEGISLATIVE HISTORY

Posted on Sep 4, 2020 in Featured, What's New

With so many key libraries and the State Archives temporarily or intermittently closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, the state Office of Information Practices has made it easier for people to research the legislative history behind the UIPA and Sunshine Law and their amendments.  On its new Legislation page, OIP has made readily available online the legislative history that it was able to compile from its own files, the State Archives, and the Legislature’s website.

OIP will also begin to incrementally post the four-volume Report of the Governor’s Committee on Public Records and Privacy (December 1987), which was the basis for adoption of the UIPA in 1988.

For unbiased open government news, please check for What’s New articles that are archived on OIP’s website or emailed to you upon request.  To be added to OIP’s email list, please email [email protected].  Also, if you would like to receive What’s New articles or attachments in a different format, please contact OIP at (808) 586-1400 or [email protected].
