HAPPY NEW YEAR, from the state Office of Information Practices (OIP)!

As we welcome the new calendar year, it is also time for all government agencies to close out the first half of the fiscal year 2020 by saving a copy of their UIPA Record Request Log data for record requests received from July 1, 2019 through December 31, 2019.  Each department’s UIPA Coordinator should collect and provide to OIP a copy of each agency’s FY 2020 Log and Checklist for this semiannual period, which are due to OIP by January 31, 2020.

To save an electronic copy of their Semiannual Log, agencies should use the “save as” function and re-name it as their agency’s FY 2020 Semiannual Log.  Agencies should continue adding to their original Log for the rest of FY 2020.  After this fiscal year ends, annual data for the period from July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020 will be collected.  Training on the UIPA Record Request Log can be found on the UIPA Record Request Log Training page at oip.hawaii.gov.

For results of the FY 2019 Year End Logs, please see OIP’s What’s New article posted on December 31, 2019 or go to the Reports page at oip.hawaii.
