Calendar Changes

The State Office of Information Practices (OIP) has posted on its website direct links to each county’s calendar listing board and commission meetings and other events.  Additionally, due to increased spam problems, the State Calendar was revised to discontinue the use of the [email protected] email address.   NIC Hawaii’s new email address will be shown to registered State Calendar users after login and may be used to contact NIC Hawaii for technical assistance and permission to post notices of emergency or continued meetings.  Please do not contact OIP for assistance with the State Calendar.

OIP reminds boards that the Sunshine Law requires notice of board meetings to be electronically posted on the relevant State or county calendar at least six calendar days before the meeting.  For State boards that must post notices on the State Calendar of emergency and continued meetings with less than six days’ notice, the board must first obtain permission by contacting NIC Hawaii’s Customer Service via phone at (808) 695-4620 from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays (excluding State holidays), or by logging into the site and using NIC Hawaii’s new email address.  Within one business day, NIC Hawaii will then email the requester with information on how to post a meeting with less than six days’ notice.
