Water Service Customer Home Telephone Numbers;
Inter-Agency Disclosure
[OIP Op. Ltr. No. 05-03 partially overrules this opinion to the extent that it states or implies that the UIPA’s privacy exception in section 92F-13(1), HRS, either prohibits public disclosure or mandates confidentiality.]
The Board of Water Supply may not disclose the home telephone numbers of its individual customers because the disclosure of this information would constitute a clearly unwarranted invasion of personal privacy. This information may be furnished to federal and state law enforcement agencies for a civil or criminal law enforcement investigation.
