To make its website easier to navigate, the state Office of Information Practices (OIP) has reorganized the materials, particularly those on the Training page at oip.hawaii.gov.  Additionally, OIP has provided a new link on the Opinions page to “Court Opinions,” which provides a list of cases, citations, and brief descriptions of important court opinions relating to the UIPA and/or Sunshine Law.  OIP has also updated the searchable subject matter index for the UIPA and Sunshine Law Index, as well as the Table of Statutes and Rules cited in OIP opinions.

Due to a glitch caused by the transfer of the website to a new server, some of OIP’s older opinions had to be reloaded.  The full texts of all of OIP’s formal opinions are now back online.  To avoid website accessibility problems, OIP’s recent formal opinions do not contain signatures because they are being saved in digital format and are no longer being physically scanned as pdf versions.  Moreover, OIP is still working on converting its older opinions into accessible format.  If you want a copy of a signed opinion or in an accessible format, please contact OIP.

For the latest open government news, check for archived copies of What’s New articles that are posted here, or e-mailed upon request. To be added to OIP’s e-mail list, please e-mail [email protected].  Also, if you would like to receive What’s New articles or attachments in a Word format, please contact OIP at (808) 586-1400 or [email protected].
