HAPPY NEW YEAR!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, from the state Office of Information Practices (OIP)!

We hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday season.  Now that you’ve welcomed in the new calendar year, it is time for all government agencies to close out the first half of the fiscal year 2018 by saving a copy of their UIPA Record Request Log data for record requests received from July 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017.  Each department’s UIPA Coordinator should collect and provide to OIP a copy of each agency’s FY 2018 Log and Checklist for this semiannual period, which are due to OIP by January 31, 2018.

To save an electronic copy of their Semiannual Log, agencies should use the “save as” function and re-name it as their agency’s FY 2018 Semiannual Log.  Agencies should continue adding to their original Log for the rest of FY 2018.  Annual data for the period from July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018 will be collected after this fiscal year ends.  Training on the UIPA Record Request Log can be found on the UIPA Record Request Log Training page at oip.hawaii.gov.

For the latest open government news, please check for archived copies of What’s New articles that are posted here or can be e-mailed upon request.  To be added to OIP’s e-mail list, please e-mail [email protected].  Also, if you would like to receive What’s New articles or attachments in a Word format, please contact OIP at (808) 586-1400 or [email protected].
