FY 2017 YEAR-END UIPA RECORD REQUEST LOGS AND CHECKLISTS DUE

The Office of Information Practices (OIP) would like to remind agencies that the FY 2017 Year-End UIPA Record Request Logs and Checklists must be submitted to OIP by July 31, 2017.  By now, agencies should have completed and logged for FY 2017 most of the requests that they received through June 30, 2017.  Each agency should provide their FY 2017 Logs to their UIPA Coordinator for submission to OIP by July 31.  OIP will then input the summaries of the agencies’ Logs onto the Master UIPA Record Request Log for FY 2017 at data.hawaii.gov.

As a reminder, please be sure to save a copy of your agency’s FY 2017 Log, and begin a new FY 2018 UIPA Record Request Log to cover requests received from July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018.  Forms, instructions, and other training materials are available on the UIPA Record Request Log Training page at oip.hawaii.gov.

The Logs have been yielding valuable data that OIP will be using to revise its administrative rules.  OIP is currently in the process of drafting the administrative rules and will be seeking public comment on them this fall.
