Happy New Year, from the state Office of Information Practices (OIP)!

While this is the start of a new calendar year, government agencies are already halfway through fiscal year 2016.  Now is the time for all agencies to save a copy of their UIPA Record Request Log data for the semiannual period for record requests received from July 1, 2015 through December 31, 2015, and to upload the semiannual totals onto the OIP Master UIPA Record Request Semiannual Log for FY 2016 on data.hawaii.gov by January 31, 2016.  Additionally, OIP requests that all departments collect and provide to OIP a copy of each agency’s FY 2016 Log for this semiannual period.  Mahalo!

To save an electronic copy of their semiannual Log, agencies should use the “save as” function and re-name it as their agency’s FY 2016 semiannual Log.  Agencies should continue adding to their original Log for the rest of fiscal year 2016.  Annual data for the period from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016 will be collected after the fiscal year ends.

Training on how to enter data or to upload agency totals from the Log can be found on OIP’s training page at oip.hawaii.gov.  If you have any questions, please contact [email protected] or call 586-1400.
